What a bad blog parent I’ve been. It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post but there has been much going on…
Hey- I’m a life-drawing teacher now! Crazy. I love it. I kinda fell into the position of leading a local class after the artist in residence at Wooda Farm went back to London but the group wanted to carry on weekly. Two of us were willing to lead the future sessions, but my availability is better as the other is off to Nepal for five months. So here I am: life drawing teacher. I taught art classes years and years ago, but this comes at a point in my life where I am a better, more confident artist myself and I’m living in an area that makes me so comfortable and at peace. This calm has made teaching feel very natural and I’m just so happy to have the opportunity to share things that can help develop others. The feedback to my sessions and teaching has been very positive. This experience has me considering tutoring in my own studio. Might be a great thing to try during the winter months… We’ll see!
On another note: I’ve been working through some ADHD medication woes and wins. My psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse (who visits me occasionally at home) have been wonderful and I have never felt so cared for as on the NHS here in Cornwall. I had a disastrous time on Concerta, but the results from my month on Strattera are promising. I started my second 28 day pack of the stuff today.
Bodyboarding! Neil and I get out when we can and it’s just so much fun. We’re getting better at it and still laugh at ourselves when we think about our new love of the surf. Just shows it’s never too late to get a board and give it a go.
That’s about all I’m going to update for now. I’ve got a mountain of work to do and if my allergies don’t kill me today, I’m sure I’ll get a good chunk o’ things done.
