Hey ho, therapy!

Big step today, folks; I went to the GP (my doctor) and told her I need counselling. She has put me on the list. In the meantime, I can contact a support group specialising in bereavement. I probably will.

My GP is pretty good; she listens and accepts that I have a grip on what I’m talking about with regards to my mental health. She asks the right questions, gives options, and is professionally sympathetic. I also let her know that the therapy would be best if it could cover not only my bereavement issues, but also my bi-polar depression, anxiety, and ADHD. This is why I’m on a list- those folks tend to be booked up with other crazy people. This crazy person will have to wait her turn.

It’s a step in the right direction, and I feel pretty brave to have taken it.
