Several months ago I spotted another title by Hoopmann called All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome and thought it was amazing. The use of simple wording, humour, and photos of cats communicated clearly about AS in a way that promoted understanding and acceptance. Now she’s done it again for ADHD and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
I have ADHD. (A bit of bipolar too, but now I’m just bragging.) All Dogs Have ADHD is about me. Both of Hoopmann’s books are clear that they are not one-size-fits-all, but rather a broad look at common symptoms and behavioural traits. Even by covering the subjects with a broad stroke, she hits the mark and has done a wonderful job at explaining what each person may go through. The books promote dignity, individuality, and potential without ever preaching or talking down. I wish I had had this book when I was growing up.
These are perfect for anyone wanting to understand more about a friend, co-worker, child, or family member. I highly recommend these insightful and touching books.
