The humour of working retail

Yesterday, I bought a new shirt (on clearance). It is a lovely purple faux-wrap style with a deep (one might say, plunging) neckline. The shirt is in a really flattering cut and a great colour. I wore it to work today. It’s hot without being inappropriate.

My part-time job involves selling things to the buying public.
Customer A approaches. He is a white male, 40 or 50 years old, wearing glasses. He looks me right in the… chest.
“Do you sell globes?”

Actually, we do. I gave him directions to that part of the shop.
I think he may have been inspired to buy two. 😉
