We’ve returned from Heathrow, had a snack, deflated our air mattress, and are getting back into the pre-New Year’s grind.
I’m having a nap on our own bed before commencing my studies again and Neil is back to work after having taken the day off yesterday to cart us girls to Stonehenge. Although it’s less crowded now, the flat seems a tiny bit empty without my girlfriends. It’s a mix of emotions: one part sadness and two parts fun and fond memories of the last action-packed week. They had a great time and so did we.
As I stacked my pillows back onto my side of the reclaimed bed, I saw an envelope on the night-stand. They had sneaked a birthday card in before they left and tucked some cash into it. I add another year to my age on Sunday and will be sure to spend the unexpected gift on something fun. 🙂
There’s so much to tell and show pictures of, but for now I must take a nap. It’s a tough job to show your pals around England as best as you can in just under a week, but with best pals like Jodi and Bridgette, it’s a rare and treasured pleasure. We were never too tired out to smile and laugh even when the pain of our walking-abused feet was at it’s worst. They are absolutely two of the most genuine and beautiful people I know.
Now, my snooze…
Thanks for coming to see me guys!
