I said I had comments back on, but I think I still had them off. I am under the impression that I’ve reinstated the feature this time for sure…
Anyway, here’s what I’ve been up to today. The plan goes like this:
Take the office and put that in the bedroom. Put that bedroom into the spare bedroom. Dismantle guest accommodations in the spare bedroom and allow for a temporary sleeping area in the new office (former main bedroom) for us to inhabit when guests are staying over in our bedroom. So the current bedroom becomes a real office, the spare bedroom becomes the bedroom, and the office is removed from the living room, thereby freeing up one third of that room and allowing a better work/life separation.
I’ll have this shuffle completed before the end of the week. It’s hard work and I’m going to be sore tomorrow for having moved wardrobes, shelving units and untold numbers of boxes and smaller furnishings. It feels good to be so active in making this modestly sized flat more efficient and responsible with it’s limited space. Moving the work area to it’s own room should also give me the visual/physical break from the rest of the flat that I need.
This is still not going to be a dream abode due to our restricted storage options, but it will end up being a little nicer to live and work in for the rearrangement. I’ve never spent so much time at home in my working life, so making the most of what we have is imperative.
EEk! Is that the time? I’d best make a cup of tea and get my ass in gear. Neither bed is accessible right now and I really don’t want to sleep on the floor… what little of that there is… What a big, beautiful mess! 🙂
