Because I love you

Because I love you, and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I’ve quickly written you some Haiku about that unpredictable beast called ‘love’.

Hands hold promises-
Laced fingers in your pocket
Never let me go…

Just because there’s love,
Doesn’t mean I won’t smack you-
Away from my cake.

Tickle me softly-
like petals on the water.
I am electric.

A seven year itch
Could be unavoidable-
I have allergies.

Will you marry me?
Old hands fold time together-
There is only you…

Chav love incomplete.
Young slags and mingers abound-
Where are my trainers?

Just because there’s love,
Doesn’t mean I don’t need it-
I still like presents.

Couldn’t you knock first?
Sweet dew clings to fingertips-
Lovin’ self, disturbed.

Hope you liked my silly foray into Haiku.
Happy Valentine’s Day, kitties.
smooches to you and those you love~

  1. Thanks Matt! I’ve always enjoyed writing silly haiku. I love the challenge of the 5-7-5 rule. I’ll have to post the ones I wrote to my mother a few years ago when I had a particularly nasty cold- they are ridiculously amusing and helped keep my mind off the head-splitting hell I was in. (You’re really never to old to whine to your mom when you’re sick… πŸ™‚ )

So sorry nellus- I know you dwell in a mire of haiku confusion. Not everyone gets the semi-abstract nature of the verse, therefore it only tarnishes your sense of humour very slightly in my eyes. You still get a smooch. πŸ˜‰

    smooches to you both~
