Hey kitties!

I wrapping my brain around some tricky image issues with a site I’m building using CSS. I’ll show you when it’s all done. The gist of the issue I need to overcome is the limitation of CSS in allowing more than one background image. Well, I know there are workarounds- like splitting out the background images to different areas of the page, like, putting one in html and one into body, etc… but I need three. And I want to create the header as a clickable home link for the site. I’ve got my work cut out for me… heh heh. I’m studying some techniques through CSS Zen Garden and other sites, so I’m sure I’m on the right track. I also have the good fortune of having Neil’s brain to pick as well… he’s pretty much an mega-geek and is helping me get up to speed. 🙂

Anyway, separately, I thought I’d mention one of my favorite silly opensource modifications. It’s called iModz, and is a multi-type status message generator for iChat. As they say on the site: “iModz communicates with Mail, Safari, iTunes, Finder and iChat to make available different informations that you would like to show in your iChat status message, such as the number of new e-mails you got in your mailbox, the current site you are visiting in Safari, the name or nickname of the person you are chatting with, and many more.” It’s fun. It’s harmless. It’s free. I like it and thought you might too. There is one tiny glitch to those using Adium for iChat operations… I’ve always got iChat and Adium running at the same time. Adium reports all status indicators generated by iModz in iChat as Away status. It still updates live, but it indicates me as Away at the same time. Not a big deal, as most people won’t likely be running an opensource chat application at the same time as iChat. I use it so that I can run Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, AIM and iChat at the same time in the same application GUI. I’m kinda silly like that. 🙂

I just got a look at the latest yummy stuff from MacWorld San Francisco… I soooo want a Mac Mini. Damn they’re sexy. I want three of them. I want to stack them up and have multiple monitors… I want a pony too.

  1. Hmm three Mac Mini and 23″ LCDs and a pony, I am sure your residents association will have a rule against that 🙂

BTW didn’t you get the pony I sent for your birthday? Damn can’t have put enough stamps on it and do you know how difficult it is to fit a pony in a Pillar box! 🙂

Kev (no ponies were harmed in the creation of this post, stunt Pandas were used instead)
