Individual pages are not updated with the same regularity as the main blog, however, I do try to test links within page text at least once per year.

Expat

I plan on giving you a taste of my expat experience here. What’s an expat? A person who moves from their country of origin to live in a country of their choice. It’s a shortened form of the word “expatriate.”That’s me! I’m an American abroad… I live in South-East England. I’ll open this up to be a page about my adjustments, be they fun, funny, sad, frustrating or confusing, and hopefully it may inspire or help those who read it.Don’t forget to also check out the posts I mark with an “expat” Category as well… see the links on the right or just click here for the most recent “expat” marked posts. Here’s a little picture of where I live thanks to Google Maps:

Note: I’ve moved since creating this; I no longer live in that flat or that building.

Also see:it’s the same, but different for a rough glossary of terminology that I’m becoming familiar with as I acclimatise here in my British home. (I just used one there: acclimatise. In America it would be acclimate.)

weird stuff I’ve eaten as an expat which chronicles (mostly from my first year here) the foods that have made it to my broadening palette. Who would have thought you could get chocolate cake in a can…
