So I’ve grown big enough balls to start entering my work into art competitions. I mailed off my first submission today to a Cornwall-based festival in its first year of operation. The fact that it’s a Cornwall festival pleases me, as I am so very in love with this area. It’s entirely possible my entry won’t make the grade, but I don’t mind. The fact I’m actively entering things now is a big step in the right direction.

I am in the studio today working on final touches to another competition entry, and it’s for a far more prestigious prize. Can’t win if I don’t enter, and can’t say I tried unless I do. So, fuck it. I’m giving it a whirl.

I’m done sitting on the sidelines.
