One down

I had given myself permission to blow last night’s deadline if I needed to, but I finished the story and sent it off just before midnight. It was a good practise run, if nothing else, for the next deadline I have– the 10th. That one is far more daunting not because the requirements are any different than what I sent off yesterday, but because of the (slim) possibility of publication in something hundreds of thousands might read. Let me assure you that that’s quite a few more than will ever notice the other one, even if it takes a prize.

I’m hunkering down and maintaining radio silence until after the 10th. What I write needs to have my full attention, as much as I am able to give anything my full attention.

Contrary to the tone of this post, I love this stuff. I just wish I hadn’t let myself get out of practise.

See you later. x
