My brain was mush this morning (sinuses and such) and so I took a bit of time to play with available natural light and a couple of still life shots. Above is one of my Pontarlier glasses and a silver-plated spoon. I post-processed the photo with Lightroom, Photoshop, and two of my free textures (available through deviantART and flickr).
Now it’s time for lunch and some heavy-duty script writing. I’ll put something in that Pontarlier glass later as a reward for some writing time.

That is a lovely photo …. and one very odd spoon ….. any explanation?
Thank you DaddyP! The spoon is specific to drinking absinthe – slotted so that you can place a sugar cube on top, then slowly drizzle water over it, allowing it to melt into the elixir. A deliciously ritualistic drink.
I have a little site I’m (lazily) working on if you’d like more absinthe-related info: http://absinthehour.com
And there’s always: http://www.oxygenee.com/absinthe-museum.html
Available-light photography with fast primes is my favourite variant. I still have much to learn, but I enjoy it immensely.
This is a fabulous photo.
Oh, and I arrived here via your last.fm page
Thank you Colin! And welcome to regularjen!
Nice site young Jen – I’m going to have to try some aren’t I?
I think you certainly should, but then, I could be biased.
