What do I know about script writing?

Nothing.
Yet. But I’m getting there. Why am I concerned about script writing? Because, if you’ve seen the banner in my sidebar, I’m participating in Script Frenzy 2009. It’s a one month / 100 page script writing challenge in the same vein as NaNoWriMo.

The allure of writing a script is a simple one for me: I’ve never written one, so I shall do it. I plan on using a scraggly novel rough (not the NaNoWriMo novel, though it is still unpolished) and seeing if it works better as a script. A full script in a month is bonkers, but my own deadline is shorter; I will be unavailable for the last week of April and so the script must be finished before then. Oh deary me, will I ever learn…

Wish me luck, send chocolate, and I’ll have a hug at the end.
Here goes nothing! 😀

  1. Hey Kev!
Yup Celtx is very good. I’ve played with it over the past couple of years but never put a ‘real’ project through it. I’m going with Scrivener (my trusty) and its script template. I don’t want to distract myself with a new interface on such a limited schedule.

I’ve got a few books on script writing (thanks to Neil) but not familiar with the pdfs you link to. Will go have a look – thank you! 😀

  2. ¡Gracias, Tango! ¡Necesito toda la suerte que puedo obtener!
(thought I’d practise the language I’m learning too! 😀 )
