A few days ago I had a dream that included me screaming. I woke up the next morning with a bit of a tender throat. Just a reaction to the dream, I hoped. Another day passed and the irritation persisted. I went to the health food store and stocked up on additional vitamins, minerals, and potions. Last night I went to bed with a very slight cough. This morning it’s a full-blown chest cold.
Why do I say “like clockwork?”
Because it’s NaNoWriMo time and this is what happened last year as well. Even so, I’ve pushed out 1486 words today (daily goal is 1667 to make 50,000 by November 30), and will make up for the rest tomorrow. I came to a natural pause in my writing and rather than stress out over a couple hundred words, I’ve decided to take the rest of the evening off and focus on getting well and rested.
Keep an eye on the counter in the sidebar for my progress. It doesn’t update immediately, but should give you a good idea of where I’m at in the project. Go, me!
