Neil and I went for a nearly 9 mile bicycle ride today. We’re both out of cycling practise but, for a girl with unfortunate knees, I kept up speed and managed hills without any discomfort. It was encouraging, my recovery time was swift, and the distances for me will increase as my knees permit. There have been times in my life when my knees have given me too much grief to ride a bike, but the route we took and the adjustments Neil made to my bicycle made for a really good time. Some hills, some off-road, and some busy roads gave us a variety of terrain and lovely morning out of the flat. Hurray! We’ve made a pledge that no matter how busy we are that we shall get out for a minimum of two rides per week.

From top: Neil after a fast run down an off-road trail, I like snails, angry ants after I moved their rock cover, and yes- another snail. (I took the off-road more gently than he did as my bike is a hybrid focused more on road riding. He, on the other hand and properly equipped, took the trail more than once and was grinning from ear to ear with heart-thumping joy.)
A good day! 🙂
