BT is on my list…

Argh. Broadband is down thanks to the phone company. πŸ™

An appropriate blog entry about the adventures of PodcastCon UK 2005 will be up later today as I will be sporadically connecting to the web via a dial up connection.

Watch this space. πŸ˜‰

UPDATE: I probably won’t get a post about PodcastCon up tonight. We’re still without our broadband and the dial-up costs a small fortune to have going when it’s not necessary. πŸ™
Everyone cross your fingers for a speedy, hi-speed recovery…

  1. Ah, you too. I’m at a clients currently who is having fun and games with BT today.

Hopefully this will be a thing of the past once you’ve been upgraded πŸ˜‰

    – Neil.

  2. Seems to be going around. Another pal is having issues with BT as well. Neil was joking that it’s probably BT installing Be*’s equipment at the exchange! πŸ˜‰ That would just be my luck… heh heh

  3. I swapped over to a new broadband provider for two reasons, cost and no sporadic downtime on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings. You actually have a modem still? Look forward to your new posting.

  4. No- we’re on a 2meg DSL, but it’s the actual phone company, (BT), that’s causing trouble. Our internet provider is typically quite good, but BT must be doing service in the area.

We’re switching over to a 24meg, (yup- 24), DSL broadband soon, as I won a year free at PodcastCon, but that will still rely on the phone lines from BT. * sigh * So, switching providers will do nothing, but if BT would get off their asses and fix stuff, well- that would be lovely. πŸ™‚

  5. 24Mbps DSL, that is almost unheard of? Either your lines out there are pretty damn good or they are overselling their service knowing that people won’t notice half or even a third of the “guaranteed” speed. I’m lucky with my 4Mbps which I am considering upgrading to 6Mbps. Companies like Verizon are offering FIOS which is a fiber-feed directly to the demarc. Sadly, they aren’t offering it above 20Mbps.

Lucky girl, lucky lucky lucky girl. Oh, and whatsup with banner saying 24Megularjen?

  6. Oh, duh, I figured it out now. My brain isn’t working at full speed today. Who are you getting it through? Is it capped at a certain download amount per month?

  7. Hey Jen / Neil… are ya fixed yet? Bless! I am enjoying myself hopping around finding the myriad entries on everyones blog about the conference! Wowee!

I really had no chance to get to speak to you guys at all. Next time I am anywere near Maidestone, I’ll give you some notice and chew the fat for an hour or so over a coffee.

Fantastic meeting you both – I really enjoyed the day – I’m still sniffing the excitement in the air.

    See you soon

  8. Still no broadband, BT is on the case for Thursday. (Speedy- they are not.)

Yup, the connection is as fast as it sounds. 24Meg. Check out the details at http://www.BeThere.co.uk
