Silly things make me happy

Loo roll.

ToilettowerCopious amounts of toilet tissue reduce stress in my life. Not by much, but really, remembering to refill the TP a quarter of the average time keeps me in my zen zone for just a tiny bit longer each day. (LILLHOLMEN toilet roll holder available at your local IKEA.)

What silly, simple thing makes you happy?

(Oh, and yes the bathroom flooring is ugly. It’s the landlord’s fault…)

  1. Regaring toilet paper, if there is an empty roll, I go nuts. Why is it so hard for people (family) to go into the bottom drawer, take out a new roll, and put it on the holder–not leaving it on the counter is also a big no no.

Makes me happy, rain, my children, my wife, and my friends.

    See, not much.

  2. πŸ™‚ excellent toilet paper insight Brian. lol

Now, the happiness items… those are fairly predictable, friend. What silly things make you happy? Do you have a favourite wooden spoon? A special pair of socks (maybe with holes), The best gravy recipe this side of the Mississippi? Can you juggle? Silly things… I think it’s a given that our friends and family make us happy. (hopefully!)

    Try again mate! πŸ˜‰

  3. I know you are going to find this hard to beleive, but my KC and the Sunshine Band CD and Herbert. Also the wonderful wardrobe Ginny made him.:) I think he needs a trip to the day spa while I’m gone.

  4. I love that Herbert makes you happy! He is a damn fine walrus… πŸ™‚
(The KC is forgiven because you’re my friend… lol!)

  5. Jen,

One can never be out of toilet paper if one has paper towels. Unfortunately the converse does not hold up (pun intended). Also, being a bit less regular would alleviate any shortage.

    Hope this helps.

    Sincerely,
    John

  6. Jeesh, what makes me happy that is silly, man, oh man, that’s going to take some serious thought. Oh yes, the silliest thing. I have one of those old Ty Beanie Babies that is a Crab. He is tie-dyed, cutest thing, sits on top of one of my monitors at my office. I look at him, always makes me happy.

(oh, and a song by the band Cold).

  7. Hi Johnβ€šΓ„ΓΆ?Γ‘?Β¨ Welcome to my blog!

So now I need to stock paper towels in my bathroom too? Hmmm… might need another one of those toilet roll holders then… πŸ˜‰

  8. Hello Jen.

Yes, you need to stock paper towels in your bathroom. Make sure the designs are entirely contained within the preforations. That is, they must be cleanly parsed by you.

  9. Paint chips. Yes, I love to go to the DIY store and look at the display of hundreds of colors. Just to stand there and see the possibilities gives me happy face. Then to bring a big bunch home …to hold them in my hands …all those colors…fantastic!

  10. That’s a good one Ginny! πŸ™‚ That’s partly why I love Pantone books…

You should look at the ColorBlender link on my sidebar. You can play with mixing colours and getting random palettes. It’s mostly for web folks, but it’s a lovely toy! Find it under the Design heading…
