Heatwave? What heatwave??

We ordered the 12000BTU portable air conditioner when threats of a heatwave were fresh on the lips of the BBC weather forecasters. Back-ordered. Predictable. My prognostication was that by the time the blessed appliance arrived, it would be in the 60s (F) again and to even test-drive this marvel of mobile cooling ability would be moot.

Turns out I got a little modern-day Nostradamus in me. It rains. It remains in the 50s/60s. The unit sits like a dog begging for a bone in the corner of the living room…
Argh.

smooches~

Note: This was actually a comment I left on my Maddie’s blog, but I thought it could make a fine enough post on it’s own merits.

  1. Of course you realise that the warm weather is caused by global warming and air conditioners use a lot of electricity, the generation of which causes CO2 which causes global warming. So when you finally turn on the air conditioner it will actually get hotter. 🙂

Kev, who in a month’s time will be sweating like mad and thinking about buying an air conditioner!
